Keep It Rollin
[ Play in your browser ] Contain a newly discovered quantum particle by placing walls to "Keep it Rollin" on the panels that de energise it. This particle is highly energetic and will escape if not properly controlled. Your goal is to strategically place walls to prevent its fall out and maintain its velocity, all while minimising exposure to its radiation that can damage the containment panels underneath it.
TLDR: Hover on panel with Mouse, Press A or D to rotate wall (anti/clockwise). LMB to place a wall. (PS: You may need to LMB click inside the game window for the first time when running in browser, subsequent clicks will work fine!)
Instructions:
- Objective: Your objective is to successfully contain and de energise the explosive quantum particle by for as long as possible. The longer you "Keep it rollin" on the panels, the higher your score will be.
- Controls (Keyboard โจ + Mouse ๐ฑ๏ธ):
- Mouse: Use the mouse to interact with the game environment. Click the Left Mouse Button (LMB) to place the wall at the desired location by hovering your mouse over the panels.
- Keyboard: Use the A/D key to rotate the panel wall anticlockwise/clockwise, while placing.
- PS: The particle is energetic and will roll on its own. Also you may need to LMB click inside the game window for the first time when running in browser, subsequent clicks will work fine!
- Gameplay:
- The game screen will display the particle dropped on the panels as soon as its captured in the containment chamber. The particle's velocity will start increasing over time, making it more challenging to control.
- The particle will move autonomously, following the laws of physics. Your task is to prevent it from falling out of the containment area.
- To control the particle's trajectory, place angled walls strategically. The particle will bounce off these walls.
- Be careful not to slow down the particle too much. The particle's radiant energy damages and eventually cracks the panels on exposure. If the panel cracks while the particle is on it, the particle will fallout and escape.
- Scoring:
- Your score is determined by the duration for which you successfully contain the particle and "Keep it rollin".
- The longer you keep the particle contained and rollin, the higher your score will be.
- Try to beat your high score with each attempt!
- Tips:
- Plan your wall placements strategically to guide the particle's movement efficiently and prevent it from escaping.
- Keep an eye on the particle's speed. Rapid increases in speed could lead to unexpected escapes.
- Balance your strategy between containing + rolling the particle without going too slow which eventually cracks the panels and leads to fallout/escape.
- Game Over/Restart:
- The game ends when the particle reaches escape velocity and exits the containment area.
- If the particle falls out from the sides, it will escape and the game will end.
- If a panel cracks due to prolonged radiation exposure while the particle is still "rollin" on it, the particle will escape, and the game will end.
- The game ends when the particle reaches escape velocity and exits the containment area.
Let's see how long you can "Keep it Rollin"! ๐ฌ
Beat my personal record of 5 mins and 200+ panels!
๐ Game Jam Creation - Developed in 48 Hours ๐
"Keep it Rollin" was born during a 48-hour game jam, centered around the theme of "Infinity" hosted by Nikhil Malankar. The particle can be kept rolling endlessly for infinity thus it fits the theme of "Infinity" for the game jam.
